About Studio Verbaan – A Unique Design Perspective

Studio Verbaan is a Dutch design studio based in Rotterdam, founded in 2019 by Solange Frankort and Jordi Verbaan. Their work is shaped by diverse creative backgrounds – Solange from conceptual art and photography, and Jordi from artisanal woodworking and visual art – creating a distinctive and thoughtful approach to design.

We launched our first products together with the Spring–Summer 2026 collection. We value Studio Verbaan for their clear design language that bridges craft and concept, where simple forms and material presence are central. Their design philosophy is rooted in the belief that:

In collaboration with Studio Verbaan, POLSPOTTEN presents the Kombo Side Table: a versatile object where geometry, functionality, and sculptural expression come together. Kombo moves effortlessly between side table, pedestal, and autonomous object. The design reflects Studio Verbaan’s signature - minimalist, playful, and layered - while seamlessly aligning with POLSPOTTEN’s love for expressive design with character. An object that isn’t fixed, but adapts to space, function, and imagination.
